Our annual 12 Hours of Summit Suffering competition is coming up next month! It's one of Summit biggest event's of the year and we are SO. DANG. EXCITED. Sign up is open now on our site - there are like a million different reasons to compete, but here's a breakdown of what this comp is all about!
This is our third annual 12 Hours of Summit Suffering, and it was originally created as either training for the 24 Hours of Horseshoe Hell competition that takes place at Horseshoe Canyon Ranch in Arkansas, or as an alternative for climbers who want to do an endurance climbing competition but don't want the commitment of the 24HHH. Our very first 12HSS had space for 100 competitors — this year we're doubling it, and have 200 competitor spots available AND we have included our Denton location to climb at!
Competitors get from 9 am to 9 pm on August 26th to climb as much as they can! They start at one of our four current gyms — Denton, Grapevine, Carrollton or Dallas, and can climb routes, send problems, or take fitness classes for points. Sign up with a teammate and choose a category and you're ready to go (18+ to compete please)! We tally up everyone's scores at the end, and announce the winners! The best-performing team will win a spot in this year's 24HHH - a highly-coveted prize since this competition is so popular there is a lottery system to get in. There's an after-party / awards after climbing ends at our Grapevine location - festivities start at 9:30 pm sharp! What's in it for competitors? Well your $80 entry fee gets entrance fee for you AND your teammate into the competition, as well as a custom t-shirt, swag bag with giveaways from our sponsors, and entry to our after-party with dinner and BEER as well as well as entry into the always epic raffle, with approx. a bajillion dollars worth of swag from our sponsors.
For the top three people in every category / gender, you'll get an awesome medal! We'll be giving away prizes for best team name, best costumes, and best Instagram so there are plenty of opportunities to win something.
There's a lot more info on the event sign up page, but if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to email@example.com.
