Come join Summit Yoga for a Yin Yoga class in benefit of Genesis Women's Shelter. Bring a blanket to use in the class, and bring a new blanket to donate to Genesis to attend this class for FREE! A soft blanket goes a long way in providing warmth and comfort. We are asking for blankets for babies, children and adults.
A passive style of yoga with very simple poses held for extended periods of time (2-5 minutes). Yin yoga is a perfect complement to the dynamic and muscular (yang) styles of yoga, and is aimed at the connective tissues in the body, helps increase range of motion, reduces chronic pain, and promotes relaxation.
Prefer to bring something other than a blanket? (Or if you want to donate even more!) Please bring something from the list below! We will welcome all donations!
*Please only donate brand new items.
BASKETBALLS, SOCCER BALLS & RESPECTIVE AIR PUMPS
Our residential shelter has its own sport court and with summer ramping up, our kiddos could use some new equipment!
SUITCASES OR DUFFLE BAGS
These can be new or gently used; we offer these to shelter clients when they leave so they don’t have to carry out their belongings in trash bags
Toilet paper may not be the most glamorous of gifts, but it is absolutely crucial to our day-to-day operations.
From quick cleanups to fun activities with our kiddos, paper towels are essential and we go through them frequently.
Laundry machines are always available for our clients onsite, and detergent is distributed to residents as needed. Laundry pods are strongly preferred, as they are much easier to distribute than powder or liquid.
Each client consumes an average of two snacks a day, equaling thousands of snacks each year! By providing snacks, you ensure more of our budget can go to healthy meals made up of fresh produce and organic products. Suggested snacks include:
Microwaveable cups of macaroni and cheese
Cans of non-condensed soup
Due to allergic reactions, please avoid nuts of any kind
STANDARD SIZE PILLOWS
BLANKETS OR THROWS
*Make sure to fill out our waiver before attending!
